Have you ever been on the computer at school researching information, or trying to show students something on the internet, and it has been blocked? There is no reason to block everyone in an entire school from accessing information.
Students need to access certain information through the internet that they can not access any other way. So what is the point of restricting this information? Students have many topics to do research on, most sites that, more than likely could be very helpful to them are blocked.
So it is understandable if some people might have a reason like; students would be on inappropriate sites during school hours, not doing their work. Well they could just unblock websites that are student appropriate. For example, there really is no reason to block free host websites, or even paranormal websites. What if a student has to do a paper about the paranormal and do not really have access to a computer anywhere else? They would have to use a book, but most books would be out dated, the internet is updating all the time.
Even teachers can not get past blocks to show their students what they want to. Some teachers like to use the internet to show their students things that are relevant to the lesson or the class. A lot of the time those teachers have, for whatever reason, been blocked from showing their students information. There really is not a point for most of the blocks in this school anyway.
There is no reason to restrict everyone at school from accessing certain information. Information is hard to get when people at school are restricted to access it. If they unblock it, some students could take it too far, but not if they unblock the right things. Urge the school people who are allowed to block information to fix it, make them unblock the student appropriate sites, including free hosts, religions, paranormal, and fashion. There is no reason to restrict information.
